I am very proud of Meredith's track record of accomplishment and reputation as a first class community-oriented real estate developer and manager. Since the founding of the company in 1951 by my father Sidney Rosenthal, the company has developed and managed several thousand residential apartment and condominium units and millions of square feet of commercial property throughout New England, Texas and Florida. In 1969 Meredith developed the first mixed-income apartment complex in Massachusetts financed by the Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency. Over more than 50 years Meredith has established itself as a leader in the real estate industry and one of the largest developers and managers in Massachusetts.
Meredith is also very involved in the communities where we develop and deeply committed social, economic and environmental justice. I founded and continue to Chair two successful nonprofit organizations that operate out of our Newton and Springfield offices: Stop Handgun Violence and Friends of Boston's Homeless. Both of these nonprofit organizations have become national models for successful campaigns against gun violence and homelessness, respectively. (I encourage you to learn more about these organizations by visiting their websites). I think it is important for companies, and individuals, to balance their "for-profit" and "not for-profit" activities.
